Ways to Give
Alumni, parents, and friends support Governor’s in many ways—through unrestricted annual giving, capital gifts in support of the With True Courage campaign priorities, and planned gifts and bequests. However you choose to support the Academy—and at whatever level—your generosity is truly appreciated. Every gift matters.

You can make a tax-free gift from your traditional IRA (other qualified retirement plans such as 401(k)s and 403(b)s are not eligible). This type of gift satisfies the required minimum distribution but is not included in taxable income and avoids income tax on IRA withdrawals. There are distinct guidelines for making this type of gift:
-
You must be at least 72 years old to take advantage of this opportunity (see IRS guidelines).
-
You must transfer your gift directly from your IRA administrator to The Governor's Academy.
-
The total of all of your rollover gifts in any one year cannot exceed $100,000 per person. A spouse with a separate IRA could also make a rollover gift of up to $100,000 if they otherwise qualify.
Checks should be sent directly from your IRA administrator, made payable to The Governor's Academy, and mailed to The Governor's Academy, Office of Advancement, 1 Elm Street, Byfield, MA 01922, with your name in the memo line. Our EIN number is 04-2103564. Please contact Ellen Latham or call 978-499-3246 with questions.
