Health & Wellness

In the classroom, on the field, and in the dorm, our students are supported by their peers, faculty, and staff all day and all night.

The Duncan Health Center offers care for the physical and emotional needs of students. There are seven inpatient beds, and registered nurses available to both day and boarding students. A nurse practitioner is in the office on weekdays and on-call twenty-four hours per day, a supervising physician is available for consultation as needed, and a medication management nurse is in the office weekday mornings. In case of emergency, Govs is just ten minutes from Anna Jaques Hospital. Our Health Center participates in the Mass Department of Public Health Immunization Program and is able to provide vaccines to students including the flu vaccine.

A school counselor is available to talk with students confidentially on matters of personal concern twenty-four hours a day. Working closely with the Deans’ Team and the Health Center, additional counseling services can be arranged when needed. Students support students in our Peer Advisor program. Peer advisors receive extensive training and supervision in conflict resolution, mediation, and a variety of other issues.
