Welcome! As a parent or guardian of a student at The Governor's Academy, you are automatically a member of our parents association, The Allies. The administration, faculty, students, and entire Academy community welcomes your involvement as we all strive to provide the best experience for students and their families at The Governor's Academy.
We understand the importance of parental involvement and think every parent is an important Ally. There are many opportunities for you as a parent to participate and become involved as little or as much as your time allows.
The Allies are extremely visible on campus. You will find us welcoming families in the Office of Admission, supporting campus events such as Grandparents Day, Accepted Student Days, and Family Weekend. We also support a variety of enrichment activities which include speaker series', library books, student birthday cakes, exam survival kits, our annual Halloween celebration in Phillips, Winter Carnival, and so much more!
The Allies meet monthly at various locations on campus to share ideas and concerns, organize our committees, listen to guest speakers (who always provide important information and insight), and ultimately visit and/or lunch with our children once the meetings have adjourned. Our minutes are posted monthly on the Parent Portal.
Take a look at our schedule and stop by and see us. If you are unable to attend the meetings, please contact any of our officers with questions, thoughts, or ideas at any time. Get involved! We have a great time! The Governor's Allies not only benefit our children, but are also a tremendous resource and network of friendships for parents.
