Tennis - Girls Varsity
Led by captain Lily Everett '17 (ISL All-League 2015, 2016 & 2017), the 2017 team finished with a record of 5 wins, 11 losses: 7th place among 12 teams in the Independent School League (ISL) with a league record of 4-7. ISL players and coaches voted to award the Governors the Marion Z. Jessup Trophy for their exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.
In addition to our captain, 2017 team members were Lily Harris '17, Kate Whittier '17, McKenzie Perkins '18 (captain-elect for 2018), Lea Cohen '19, Nicolette LeVan '19, Valeria Hunter '19, and Libby Hunter '19.
We play a 16-match schedule each spring; 12 against ISL teams; 4 against out-of-league teams. The ISL match format is six singles matches, each comprised of two sets, and three doubles matches of one 8-game pro set each. Players are eligible to compete in both singles and doubles. The ISL's 13 teams include a number of players with USTA experience and rankings.
Our facilities include eight outdoor hard courts, and three indoor courts.
