Whether they're here for 12 hours a day or 24 hours a day, our students consider this campus a second home. Because 85 percent of our faculty members live on campus, and many are raising their own families here, Governor's has the feel of a small, friendly village.
With their doors always open to students, our dorm parents - who also serve as teachers, advisors and coaches - become trusted friends. Students drop in to join them (and often, their young children and pets) for cookie-baking, a movie, or a chat about life's everyday trials and triumphs.
Parents are welcome on campus to join their son or daughter to share a bit of news, a laugh or a meal before heading home. And they can check in by phone anytime with an advisor or faculty member.
