In conjunction with the annual Independent School Art Instructor Association Conference being hosted by Milton Academy, this year the Art Association of New England Prep Schools and Lesley University School of Art and Design (LUCAD) have curated an exhibition of student artwork around the theme of 'Identity.' Academy Art Department Chair Belle Struck chaired the Exhibition Committee and organized with all of the participating schools and LUCAD.
Out of over 50 submissions by Govs students, ten were chosen for the exhibition. Students whose art is featured in the exhibition are: Emma Vitale ‘18, Della Shi ‘17, Kaitlyn Alimenti ‘18, Jack Norton ’17, Naish Linde ’19, Alek Davis ’19, AJ Sample ‘18, Charlotte Whittier ‘19, and Claudia Solano ’18.

This is the first collaborative exhibit of student artwork from multiple independent schools. Each school had to jury their own student work and choose the ten best pieces to bring to LUCAD. The theme of 'Identity' was given to all student artists back in the spring-with the limitation of 12x12 inches in size. This included photography, design, drawing, painting, and sculpture. Each school then chose the ten works best evoking the theme.
The reception will be held Friday, December 2 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in Cambridge at the Raizes Gallery in the Lunder Arts Center at Lesley. To view the invite, click here.
