Zoe Tang '23 Published in Prestigious "Concord Review"

Zoe Tang ‘23 of Shanghai, China recently had her research paper “The Crusading Spirit of the Women's Christian Temperance Union” published in the prestigious The Concord Review. The Concord Review “recognizes exemplary history essays written by high school students”. The essay was selected for publication in its Winter 2022 edition (December 2022).

Her history teacher Bill Quigley said, "The Concord Review's publication of Zoe's paper affirms the precocious excellence of her work. Its publication standards are endorsed by the most highly selective colleges. Even more selective than those colleges, the Review publishes just 44 papers each year -- about 5% of those submitted by pre-collegiate students around the world. Since 1987, the Review has published papers written by students from 46 American states and 41 countries."

Tang wrote the paper for her AP US History class which she took during her junior year. Tang is the tenth student from Govs to be published by The Concord Review, the world's premier journal of historical scholarship by secondary-school students. Since 1987, the quarterly journal has been publishing 44 papers each year.
