Welcome Back, Govs!

Welcome Back, Govs!

What an incredible start to another school year! It was once again inspiring to see our students’ dedication to service during Non Sibi Day, putting our motto of “Not for self, but for others” into action alongside non-profit partners across the North Shore.

The momentum continued as the entire campus embraced the outdoors for Unity Day—diving headfirst into team-building, adventure, and welcoming our newest community members. From scaling Mt. Agamenticus and navigating high ropes to exploring the Plum Island Sound and paddling the Ipswich River, students across every class had perfect weather to enjoy each other’s company and kick off an amazing year together.

The energy radiating across Byfield is undeniable. Fueled by beautiful late-summer weather and the roar of cheers on the athletic fields, the first week has been a joyful whirlwind—from the tradition of square dancing to the icy thrill of the Plum Plunge and our 2026 Dummer Cup opener! New friendships are already taking root, whether during advisory meetings, Friday night card games in Mansion House, or on the water.

Our proctors and student leaders have hit the ground running, setting an authentically welcoming, positive, and inclusive tone for the months ahead.

Whether you are a student, faculty or staff member, alumnus, or parent, your presence and school spirit shape this school. Thank you for making the opening of the school year so spectacular and for setting the stage for another great chapter in our story.

Here’s to a memorable and meaningful year ahead—Go Govs!
