The Governor’s Academy Presents Its Annual Winter Concert

The Governor’s Academy is excited to announce our annual Winter Concert will be performed on Saturday, December 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bergmann Theater in the Wilkie Center for the Performing Arts. It will feature instrumental and choral performances by our students. Join Govs on our campus in Byfield for a joyful evening of musical performances!

Under the artistic direction of Director of Instrumental Music Isaac Kramer and Director of Choral Music Yufen Yen, the concert will feature four outstanding musical groups: The Jazz Band, Academy Orchestra, Academy Singers, and The First. These student ensembles will present a repertoire of unique songs and exceptional performances. Notably, the concert will include a student-produced video playing as the Academy Orchestra performs music from Disney’s Frozen. Adding to the concert’s charm, student leader Tait Christensen ’25 will serve as the concert’s host.

“The Winter Concert is my favorite event every year,” said Christensen. “There’s a feeling of lightheartedness, community, and fun, but still extremely high-quality performances from all students. I truly think there’s something at the Winter Concert for everyone.”

The Winter Concert is the first of two annual ensemble concerts, making it a highly anticipated showcase that goes beyond the typical school event. With approximately one-third of the student body participating across instrumental and choral music groups, this concert stands as a grand celebration of the exceptional journey of our students throughout the first semester. "You won’t want to miss this spectacular night of music and creativity," said Kramer.

We encourage you to take this opportunity to immerse yourself in the magic and spirit of the season and appreciate the remarkable talents and dedication of student musicians at Governor’s.
