The Governor’s Academy Presents Its Annual Spring Concert

The Governor’s Academy is thrilled to present its annual spring concert on Friday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bergmann Theater in the Wilkie Center for the Performing Arts. This highly anticipated performance marks the culmination of the school’s musical year and serves as a joyful tribute to the Class of 2025.

This year’s spring concert, A Joyful Bloom, welcomes the spring season and features all the school’s musical groups, including The Academy Orchestra, Jazz Band, The Academy Singers, and The First. The event will also honor the final performances of the senior musicians, including featured conductors Maggie Zhou ’25, YJ Zhao ’25, and Adrian Chen ’25, who have led the school’s orchestra, jazz band, and choir with dedication and distinction.

“Adrian, YJ, and Maggie’s attention to detail, deliberate planning, and tremendous dedication earned them this special opportunity to lead our fantastic singers and musicians, and the respect of their peers,” shared Director of Choral Music Dr. Yufen Yen and Director of Instrumental Music Isaac Kramer.

In addition to celebrating the seniors, the evening featured a performance of “For Good” from the musical Wicked. The concert concluded with Pharrell Williams’s “Happy,” accompanied by a film featuring a compilation of footage captured throughout the year by student photographers and videographers. This video yearbook will showcased the vibrant community spirit and memories shared at Govs.
