Governor’s Wins a CASE Circle of Excellence Award for Campaign Refresh

With True Courage: The Campaign for Governor’s began with the most ambitious fundraising goal in the school’s history: $75 million. Having met our goal, and thanks to a visionary challenge grant from Robert M. '67 and Anne T. Bass, we set a bold new campaign goal of $100 million by the end of 2023. To help support the effort, we partnered with the branding and communications agency Generation (Brooklyn, New York) last summer and embarked on the campaign refresh project in time for our virtual event on October 14, 2022.

Later that fall, we submitted our refreshed campaign collateral to the CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) annual Circle of Excellence Awards and won a silver award in the multi-year campaign category. These awards are the premier recognition program for the advancement sector. This year, there were more than 4,500 entries from member institutions in 28 countries, including large universities like Harvard, Duke, and Johns Hopkins, and secondary schools like Milton, Exeter, and Lawrenceville. Submissions in the multi-year campaign category—one of eleven award categories—were evaluated across five areas: the ability to serve as a model for other institutions, creativity and innovation, impact and results, strategy and methodology, and use of resources (budget, people, and time) and return on investment. In refreshing our campaign, the Academy had three goals: celebrate the Bass family’s historic $15 million gift, announce the new $100 million campaign goal, and express our deep gratitude to all donors who got us to this exciting juncture. We are deeply honored to be recognized by the CASE Circle of Excellence Award—the first time the school has been honored with this distinction.
