Spring Drama Presents: "Almost, Maine"

Spring Drama Presents: "Almost, Maine"

We are pleased to present our spring drama production, Almost, Maine, which will be performed on Friday, May 17, and Saturday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Bergmann Theater in the Wilkie Center for the Performing Arts. These two evening performances are free and open to the public.

Almost, Maine is a play about real people. Consisting of eight love stories set in the fictional town of Almost, Maine, the play dives into the depth of human relationships: happiness, loss, anger, insecurity, regret, hope, and relief. It departs from the dramatic persona and tells love stories between ordinary people. Under a sky glimmering of snow and the northern lights, the characters reveal their deepest and truest thoughts about love, what it means to love, and how to love.

A student-directed production, Almost, Maine, brings together some of the Academy’s most dedicated theater students to create an unconventional theatrical experience. Over the past two months, Student Directors Maggie Zhou and Adrian Chen have been working with a small and close-knit cast to bring this production to life with the help of Arts Department Chair Paul Wann and Technical Theater Director Joe Repczynski. Although summer is around the corner in Byfield, it will still snow in Almost, Maine with the magic of Bergmann Theater.

Governor’s invites you to journey to Almost, Maine this weekend.
