The Governor's Academy is thrilled to present its annual Spring Concert, a showcase of exceptional talent and vibrant community spirit. The concert will take place on Friday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bergmann Theater in the Wilkie Center for the Performing Arts on The Governor’s Academy’s historic campus.
At Govs, music is not just a passion; it's a way of life. Our musicians devote countless hours to perfecting their craft, often performing at regional and national levels. Their dedication and exceptional talent shine through in every note, serving as a testament to their commitment to excellence.
The Spring Concert marks the pinnacle of the school year for our musicians and serves as a farewell to our graduating seniors. This one-night-only event will feature special performances from three outstanding senior conductors, Andy Jiang (Shanghai, China), Joey DiNanno (Lynnfield, MA), and Kevin Jiao (Peoria, Illinois), who will grace the stage one last time. Attendees will enjoy an enchanted garden theme, including whimsical decorations that evoke the magic of springtime.
“It’s been wonderful working with so many talented musicians. We have three amazing senior conductors who will bring you the best of Jazz Band, The First, and The Academy Singers. See you there on Friday night!” said Jiang.
The concert performances seamlessly blend the traditional with the contemporary, featuring revered classics alongside modern melodies from popular soundtracks and soulful hits by artists like Adele. This eclectic mix invites an appreciation for all genres of music, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all audiences.
Senior guitarist Morgan Proops (Salisbury, Massachusetts) wants to see you in the audience at his final high school performance. When asked about the event, he said, “I am so excited to perform with my musical family one final time. We can't wait for you to experience this musical renaissance, from classical scores to modern pop songs!”
Don't miss this extraordinary evening of musical excellence and community celebration at The Governor’s Academy Spring Concert.
