The Governor’s Academy is excited to announce our annual Pink in the Rink event on Saturday, February 15, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Whiston-Bragdon Arena on campus. For the past three years, the girls and boys varsity hockey teams have come together to raise awareness for cancer research and patient support. Join the Govs community for a thrilling day of hockey while supporting an awesome cause!
Prepare to light up the rink in pink and show who you fight for! This electrifying day will open with a youth game at 10:00 a.m. and continue with our highly celebrated boys and girls varsity hockey teams facing off against talented Tabor Academy teams at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., respectively.
But all excitement isn’t just on the ice! Alongside hockey games, there will be cancer awareness education, delicious concessions, and endless fun for everyone, including an opportunity drawing with amazing prizes, chuck-a-puck, and exclusive merchandise.
Indeed, it’s more than just an event—it’s a celebration of community and a chance to show who you fight for. At each game, there will be a “I FIGHT FOR…” moment of silence for all attendees and players to honor family and friends affected by cancer. “We are excited for another amazing Pink in the Rink! It’s truly a special cause, and we are proud to honor it,” said Boys Varsity Hockey Captain Zach Ericson ’25.
This year, our goal is to educate and inspire our community to come together for a meaningful cause: the fight against cancer. All funds raised during this event will be donated to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Jimmy Fund to support their mission of bringing hope to countless individuals battling cancer. Academy President Gracie Augustine ’25 said, “The entire community is ready for an amazing hockey game and even more so to support a great cause.”
Mark your calendars and proudly wear pink as we make a positive impact in the fight against cancer.
