Gifts from all members of the Govs community, including faculty, staff, parents and friends, help ensure our programming, physical spaces, and people are well supported.

The Governor's Fund: July 1 – June 30

More than 1,800 alumni, students, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends made gifts to The Governor's Academy last year. Many donors support the school as a means of giving back to a place that has given them so much. Others wish to honor a beloved faculty member, celebrate a milestone, or invest in the Academy's promising future.

Whatever the reason, every gift makes a difference. Gifts to The Governor’s Fund reach all corners of our campus and support nearly every aspect of daily life at Govs. Your philanthropy helps underwrite seven percent of the Academy’s annual operating budget and benefits faculty, financial aid, academic programs, the arts, athletics, community service, student leadership, and maintaining and improving our beautiful, historic campus. Your gifts provide the critical funds necessary to attract bright, talented, and ambitious young people who will thrive here and become leaders in a rapidly changing world.

MEET RENEE TSE '26

Since arriving in Byfield, Renee's generous spirit and community-mindedness have made her stand out among her peers and teachers. Renee has immersed herself in nearly every opportunity that Govs has to offer, from playing in the orchestra to mentoring her fellow students—she is a valued community member.

MEET JEFF WOTTON P'14,'17

Generations of Govs alumni will think fondly of the teacher, coach, or dorm parent who has made a lasting impact on their family.

Jeff Wotton P'14,'17 may come to mind as one of these “triple threats,” especially for alumni who fondly remember him on the playing fields, in the dorm, or sharing a laugh in advisory.

Jeff, fondly known as Wotty, has lived on campus since he arrived as an athletic training intern in 1991. Now Head Athletic Trainer and Associate Athletic Director, Wotty supports and mentors well over 300 student athletes in addition to his advisees each year. He notes how friendly and welcoming the Govs community is saying, “It doesn’t take much to do your part or offer help to another department or colleague. My first thought is, Sure, I’ll help.”

MEET ISABELLA GOMEZ '26

Isabella is a respected teammate, peer, and leader.
Since arriving in Byfield, Isabella '26 has immersed herself in various aspects of the Govs community—she is a valued community member.

“Isabella has played goalie, an incredibly difficult position, for two seasons. She loves the game and has such respect and affection for her teammates. She's encouraging, even in the most discouraging situations. Isabella is the glue that holds our team together.”
