"Govs gave me the important life skills and academic preparation that set me on a successful path, and that is the motivation for me to give back — so that others will have the same opportunities I had..."
Recognition
We're deeply grateful to all members of the Govs community who support the Academy. With every gift, of any size, more is made possible here every day.
Donor Stories
GDA was not only a privilege partially funded by alumni/ae before me, but also because it has charted the course of my life.
Govs is what it is because of the community that has been cultivated over time. It’s not always about who is here or what is offered but about how every piece—big and small—comes together to shape those who are fortunate enough to be part of it. From the campus to the faculty and staff to the students, every aspect of Govs contributes to an experience that is truly one-of-a-kind.
TO HONOR YOUR GENEROSITY, WE HAVE ESTABLISHED THESE GIVING SOCIETIES, EACH WITH A PARTICULAR FOCUS:
1763 SocietyThe 1763 Society is named in honor of the year the Academy was founded and is a testament to the profound impact of our most generous contributors. Members of the 1763 Society donate at the leadership level of $1,763 or more in a single fiscal year. Their contributions are pivotal in supporting the school today and shaping the future.
Schoolhouse SocietyThe Governor’s Academy was founded with a bequest by Lieutenant Governor William Dummer. From the very start, the school's existence depended upon the generosity of those who came before us. In the spirit of the Academy’s original benefactor, William Dummer, the Schoolhouse Society honors alumni, parents, and friends who have included the school in their legacies through planned gifts.
Phillips SocietyThe Phillips Society recognizes those who have demonstrated their loyalty to the Academy by donating to our school for two or more consecutive years.
Cardinal & White ClubOur youngest alumni inspire us not only with their burgeoning philanthropy, but with their loyalty. The Cardinal & White Club recognizes graduates of the last decade who have given for two or more consecutive years, or who contribute $100 or more in a single fiscal year to any fund.
Milestone SocietyThe Academy is proud to honor those individuals and families whose generosity has profoundly impacted the Academy's direction and progress throughout its history. The Milestone Society recognizes donors who have made fully-funded gifts of $250,000 or more in their lifetime.
