WELCOME TO OUR NEXT BOLD MOMENT

We began With True Courage: The Campaign for Governor’s with the most ambitious fundraising goal in the school’s history: $75 million. Over the past four years, more than 4,000 members of the Govs community – from around the world, in gifts of all sizes – have responded. Their generosity has been transformative.

Now we’re saying: Let’s go further. Thanks to a visionary challenge grant, we’ve set a bold new goal: $100 million by the end of 2023.

Through the generosity of the Govs community, we have met our original goal and are inspired to reach towards a new goal of $100 million. All gifts to the Academy allow us to bring the school’s mission to life in a way that is tangible and felt along every path and in every room on our campus.

THE BASS CHALLENGE

Inspired by our vision and momentum, Robert M.  '67 and Anne T. Bass GP'26 have established a matching gift challenge that sets our sights even higher.

How It Works

The Bass Challenge will match one dollar for every two dollars contributed (a 1:2 match) of all endowment and current use gifts from $50,000 and up. To be eligible for the match, gifts and pledges must be committed by December 31, 2023. The Bass Challenge will match contributions actually received by the Academy on or before December 31, 2025.

Why It Matters

The Bass Challenge invites alumni, parents and friends to invest in the future of the Academy and help us achieve the remaining institutional priorities set forth in this campaign. By investing in our highest priorities, our community plays a crucial role in building a transformative program to continue to set Governor’s apart among top independent schools. Through the Bass Challenge, donors can increase the impact of their giving dramatically and bring our vision to life in a striking, sustainable way.

Campaign Leadership

Steve Kasnet '62, P'95

Campaign Co-Chair

"Having the opportunity to remain involved with Governor’s since my graduation, I feel it is critical to support the experience that being a member of the Govs family affords. I encourage others to do the same. My approach to life was forever changed over 50 years ago when I was a student by the special culture and environment in Byfield. It is important to ensure that our 258-year tradition thrives for the benefit of future generations of students. I am proud to be a trustee during this exciting and transformative time."

Stephanie Ginsberg '85, P'20

Campaign Co-Chair

“My life has had a natural evolution leading me back to Govs as a trustee. When I reflect on the important aspects of my life, I have a renewed appreciation for my education, specifically my Governor’s years. Besides the obvious solid academic base, Govs gave me lifelong friends and a strong network. It was a thrill to see Govs through my daughter’s eyes and observe how Govs has grown and adapted including more financial aid and academic opportunities. I am honored to give back to this innovative institution and help it become an even more wonderful environment for students to create lifelong connections to each other and the school.”
