Prospectus for the Alumni Art and Literary Exhibition: Pathways

Calling all artists, writers, filmmakers, and creative spirits!

We are pleased and excited to host an Alumni Art and Literary Exhibition during Reunion Weekend 2024 in the beautiful gallery in the Peter G. Remis Lobby located in the Wilkie Center for the Performing Arts. All reunioning alums are welcome to submit work. We welcome all mediums and creative endeavors — drawing, painting, photography, digital art, film short, printmaking, ceramics, fiber, jewelry, metal, wood, glass sculpture, mixed media installation. We would also like to celebrate the authors among us in this show.
 
Details:
  • Alums can submit up to three pieces with an appreciation that we are leaving the composition of the exhibition up to the Gallery Manager, who will select works and determine the number of works included by each artist. The usable exhibition space of the gallery will be taken into consideration when selecting works for exhibition.
  • Any piece that is hanging on the wall needs to weigh less than 50 pounds
  • Pieces should be framed and ready to hang
  • Submissions need to be less than 7 feet tall and 5 feet wide
  • Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping

Submissions are due by April 24:
Please send your submissions as either an attachment or a shared Google folder to Shanna Fliegel at sfliegel@govsacademy.org. Please include up to 2 images of each piece with a neutral background.

Each submission must include:
Your Name
Your Class Year
Title of the Piece
Medium
Dimensions
Description (2-3 sentences)
Artist Biography (under 20 words)

Delivery:
Pieces should be received by Friday, May 26, 2024.

Show Detail:
On Friday evening, June 7, we will have a reception in the Remis Lobby Gallery in the Wilkie Center. The exhibit will remain up throughout Reunion Weekend. On Sunday, artists may take their pieces with them as they leave Byfield. Or, they can be shipped COD. Any sales of pieces are up to the artist.
