Alumni Awards
Governor's and our Alumni Association acknowledge the outstanding service and accomplishments of our alumni through three awards: the Alumnus of the Year Award, the Non Sibi Sed Aliis Award, and the Athletic Hall of Fame.
Non Sibi Sed Aliis Award
Presented annually at the Annual Meeting of the Alumni Association during Reunion weekend, the Non Sibi Sed Aliis Award is bestowed upon an alumnus/a who has brought pride to the Academy by embodying the spirit of the school motto, "Not for self, but for others.” The recipient, or appointed representative, is invited to return to the Academy during the following school year to meet with students and participate in community events.
Nominations are accepted on a rolling basis, and may be made by an open letter to the Alumni Council with a detailed explanation of why an alumnus/a should be considered for this award. The Alumni Awards Committee will review all nominations and follow-up with an interview and additional references. The Alumni Awards Committee will then choose a slate of finalists to present to the full Alumni Council for a vote at the Annual Alumni Council meeting held each spring. To submit a nomination online, click the button below. Written nominations may also be submitted by mail to the attention of Dionne Kelly, Advancement Coordinator, The Governor’s Academy, 1 Elm Street, Byfield, MA 01922.
We are pleased to announce Alfred "A.J." Enchill '12 as the 2021-2022 award recipient. Read A.J.'s award citation here.

Athletic Hall of Fame
The Governor’s Academy Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 2002 to honor those individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the quality and tradition of Governor’s athletics. The first class was inducted in the fall of 2003, and since that time, the Academy has inducted 42 individuals. Honorees are now selected biennially by a committee of alumni, faculty, staff, and administrators, including former and current Academy coaches. The Athletic Hall of Fame is located in the Pescosolido Field House.
