Application Process

We understand that the process of researching, visiting, and applying to schools can be at the same time exciting and stressful. We hope that the process will allow you to reflect upon your values, academic interests, extracurricular passions, and life ambitions.

If Govs sounds like a place where you could see yourself, your first step is to fill out our inquiry form. After you have completed our online inquiry form, you will receive an email with a link to our Admission Portal and your user name. If you have a domestic mailing address, keep an eye out for a viewbook in your mailbox. If you have an international mailing address, you will receive a link to our digital viewbook.

We accept both the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) and the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). Tests must be taken by the application deadline, so we recommend that you register for the October, November, December, or January test dates. Our school code for SSAT is 3466. Govs also accepts the PSAT, ACT, or SAT for students applying to the tenth or eleventh grade.

Non-native English speakers must submit the results of either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Our school code for TOEFL is 8419. Our school minimum overall band score is 7.0 on IELTS. An institutional code is not required so please ask the test center where you took the IELTS to directly send your scores to The Governor's Academy.
