Application Process
We understand that the process of researching, visiting, and applying to schools can be at the same time exciting and stressful. We hope that the process will allow you to reflect upon your values, academic interests, extracurricular passions, and life ambitions.
INQUIRE
If Govs sounds like a place where you could see yourself, your first step is to fill out our inquiry form. After you have completed our online inquiry form, you will receive an email with a link to our Admission Portal and your user name. If you have a domestic mailing address, keep an eye out for a viewbook in your mailbox. If you have an international mailing address, you will receive a link to our digital viewbook.
TESTING
APPLICATION CHECKLIST
In order to be considered for admission, you must:
- Complete inquiry form
- Take our virtual tour and interview (via Skype or Zoom)
- Provide recommendations (mathematics teacher, English teacher, personal, and optional special interest)
- Provide transcript release form to current school
- Complete an application
- Pay application fee
- Take the TOEFL or IELTS (non-native English speakers)
- Send test scores
- Complete financial aid application (if applicable)
APPLY
You are welcome to apply using the SSAT’s Standard Application Online (SAO), Gateway to Prep Schools (Gateway) application, A Better Chance (ABC) application, or our own application. We request that if you use the SAO application that you consider a response to one of the essay questions from our own application in addition to the essay submitted through the SAO application.
Our application deadline is January 15 for day student applicants and January 31 for boarding student applicants. We mail and post to our Admission Portal decision letters on March 10. Families must notify us of their enrollment decisions by April 10.
