Intro to Fine Arts: Studio Art
(9) A basic art course, covering drawing techniques, an introduction to color, and various types of media
Intro / Intermediate Studio Art
(10, 11, 12) These are courses focused on basic and more advanced design concepts, drawing techniques, color theory, and the application of a variety of media.
Painting & Printmaking
(10, 11, 12) Students work with acrylic, oils, watercolor, and sumie, as well as silkscreen, embossing, linoleum block, and etching.
A.P. Studio Art
(11, 12) Students who wish to engage in a more rigorous and advanced study of the visual arts and pursue them at the college level can enroll in AP Studio Art. This course is one year-long and requires students to complete a portfolio of 24 original works.
Independent Study in Studio Art
(10,11,12) Students who wish to work in a specific medium or discipline can propose and design their own course of study supported and guided by an instructor.
(10, 11, 12) Covers the basics of architectural drafting and culminates in 3-D constructions of students' drawings, which are then placed on display in the Carl Youngman gallery.
