The Governor's Academy softball program competes in the highly competitive Independent School League. Our non-league schedule is loaded with great teams such as Phillips Andover, Tabor Academy, Cushing Academy, Worcester Academy, and Phillips Exeter.
In 2011, The Governor's Academy had an excellent season, finishing with 16-1 record, 11-0 in the ISL which brought another championship to Byfield. We compete in the highly competitive Independent School League and play a lot of powerhouses like Phillips Andover, Tabor, Phillips Exeter, Cushing and Worcester Academy. Returning to this year's team are league MVP Sarah Dupere, All-league players Paola Otero, and Lauren Bougouikas.
The softball program is coached by Scott Kingsbury and Erin O'Connell. This will be Kingsbury's twelfth season as head coach, and O'Connell's sixth season as an assistant. They are both looking forward to working with a great group of kids who work very hard and play together as one.
Regular practice times 3:30 pm Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fridays.
