Although the Governors lost 2-10 playing Lawrence Academy, the team enjoyed an exciting day with a chance to add Jimin Park and Jeanny Tejeda, two players who are new to the game, to the line-up. Nathalie Hirchak, at second singles, won the team’s first point when she held on to best her opponent 6-4 in her opening set. Following her teammate, first singles Saule Bussing also started strong by winning the team’s second point and her first set 7-5. The first doubles team of MJ Zhou and Mary Suriyaprapadilok began promisingly and came close to capturing their first set but lost the tie-breaker 4-7. The team will travel to Weston to play Rivers School on Wednesday, April 25.
