Event Recap: The 2012 Governor's Academy boys' varsity lacrosse team opened its ISL schedule on a beautifully sunny afternoon with a 15-2 road win at St. George's. Utilizing a deep and experienced bench, the visiting Red Dogs controlled the tempo of the game from the onset against a young Dragon squad. The attack unit, in particular, was able to capitalize on the aggressive play of St. George's defense, scoring ten goals. Midfielders defended well, scooped up numerous ground balls, and ran the field with energy. The defensive unit put forth another strong effort, limiting the opposition to a handful of shots. After the game, former GDA lacrosse great, Peter Jenkins (class of 1978), provided refreshments for both varsity and JV team members and shared memories of his lacrosse playing days in Byfield and beyond. All in all, it was a very satisfying day for Governors Lacrosse.
