Byfield, MA – Saturday was arguably the most disappointing loss of the year. Governor’s would control most of the play, against rival Brooks, throughout the game. To no avail, the boys from Byfield were down 2-0 midway through the second period. The power play would get Govs going with Junior Geoff Sullivan scoring and then six minutes later Junior Ryan Scarfo would knot the game up at 2-2 with another power play goal. In the third both teams pressed for the go-ahead goal. Brooks would be the stronger team on the day cashing in 2 minutes into the third and sealing the victory with an empty net goal with two minutes remaining. Senior Nick Commesso was between the pipes and took the hard luck loss facing only 18 shots, while Govs peppered the Brooks cage with 35 shots on net.
