Kelsey Duryea ’12 and Sam Davis ’12 were recently honored as Under Armour Lacrosse All-Americans. Kelsey was a four year member of the varsity lacrosse team and is headed to Duke University next year to play for the Blue Devils. Sam was a top performer on the boy’s team and helped them to a fourth straight ISL crown this year. Sam heads to Penn State next year, where he will continue his career.

The Boston Globe reports, “Eighty-eight of the nation’s top seniors, boys and girls, have been selected for the sport’s highest honor and will play in the seventh annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic June 30 at Towson University’s Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, MD.”

Kelsey is one of just six local girls to receive this honor and Sam is one of only three New England players representing the boy’s North team at the tournament. Congratulations on this achievement!

Gov’s alum Michael Shakespeare ’08 also made headlines in the lacrosse world this week, as he prepares to head home for the 2012 Men’s Lacrosse NCAA Final Four Tournament. Michael was an All-American, team captain, team MVP and ISL MVP in his senior season at Governor’s before heading to the University of Maryland. Shakespeare and the Terps will face the third ranked Duke Blue Devils in the semi-final game this weekend at Gillette Stadium.
