Academics

With just 12 students in every class, our courses range from Mandarin Chinese to film; comparative religion to constitutional law.  At Governor’s, students can literally get their hands dirty while conducting marine science research in the Great Atlantic Salt Marsh, or converse with classmates in Canada through a Skype-enabled global classroom. 

Our academic programs are rigorous and relevant; students actively participate in the learning process and are well prepared for college and the lives they will lead after they graduate. The Governor’s Academy is unique in that we have the small class sizes that foster engaged learning, but offer an expansive curriculum that rivals that of schools twice our size. 

We expect our students to be life-long learners and encourage them to challenge themselves and embrace the rigors of academic life at Governor’s. To ensure that they succeed, our faculty members are available after class, in the evenings or on the weekends. We offer study halls and tutorial assistance; and every student is assigned a full-time advisor.
