The Governor’s Academy is always leading, always innovating. Our rigorous and relevant academic program includes research partnerships with MIT, advanced math, demanding standards in writing and critical analysis, global exchanges, internships, and a choice of five languages to study.
An average class size of 12 students fosters engaged learning, while an expansive curriculum rivals that of schools twice our size. Governor’s offers more than 125 courses, including honors, advanced, and AP classes in all departments.
Graduation requirements include a full schedule of academic coursework balanced with extensive time devoted to the arts, athletics, and community service.
Seven essential skills for the 21st century form the foundation of a Governor’s education and speak to the heart of our values as an institution. Graduates attend—and play active roles in—top colleges and universities.
We expect our students to be lifelong learners and encourage them to challenge themselves and embrace the rigors of academic life at Governor’s. To ensure that they succeed, our faculty members are available after class, in the evenings, or on the weekends. We offer study halls and tutorial assistance, our Center for Teaching and Learning is always available, and every student is assigned a full-time advisor.
