Academy to install solar panels on gym roof

The Governor's Academy is in the process of installing a 33 kW system of photovoltaic arrays on the rooftop of Alumni Gymanisum, funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Government.  The system, which includes a 4,760 ft. collection area that will generate more than 28,000 kW of power per year, is being built in partnership with GreenBridge Energy Consortium.  The Academy is receiving more than $45,000 in federal stimulus funds to finance the project.

The project supports the Academy's commitment to energy conservation and sustainability, including a focus on embracing clean and renewable energy sources on its campus in Byfield.

The (Newburyburyport) Daily News reported on the project in today's paper.  To read more, visit: http://www.newburyportnews.com/local/x1703943876/School-gets-45K-grant-to-install-solar-panels.
