The sun shone on South Byfield on Sunday morning, May 27, as seniors marched onto the lawn of Mansion House, donned in caps and gowns, awaiting the speeches that would precede the bestowal of diplomas.

As is his custom, Headmaster Marty Doggett asked, in turn, grandparents, parents, veterans, staff, faculty and his beloved wife Patty to stand and be acknowledged for their contributions to the students and to the school.

In addition to the Morse Flag medal, the Academy Prize citation, the Peter W. Bragdon Headmaster's Cup,  and the Thorndike Hilton Cup (see photos and descriptions above), The Moody Kent Prizes for excellence in different disciplines were presented. Charles Edgar Nicholson of Pomfret Center, Connecticut won the English Moody Kent Award; Meghan Leigh Doherty of Andover, MA, won History; Baileigh Erin Kimball won in Science; Royce Leigh Kwon won Mathematics; Katherine Crary Chandler of North Yarmouth, ME, won Music; Dane Thomas Lemberger of Lynnfield, MA, won Foreign Language, and Obenewaa Boakye of Bronx, NY, won Art.
